Ako čítať medzi riadkami bežnej etikety?
Ak oblečenie nemá žiadny z týchto veľkých certifikátov, skús sa zamerať na tieto detaily:
Zloženie materiálu: Vyhýbaj sa čistému polyesteru, nylonu a akrylu (sú to v podstate plasty z ropy, ktoré uvoľňujú mikroplasty). Hľadaj materiály ako organická bavlna, ľan, konope, Tencel/Lyocell (udržateľná viskóza) alebo recyklovaná vlna.
Detaily o pôvode: Ak značka hrdo napíše len „Made in PRC“ (skratka pre People's Republic of China), často sa snaží len maskovať krajinu pôvodu, ktorú si ľudia spájajú s lacnou výrobou. Naopak, transparentné etické značky často uvádzajú na webe alebo priamo na visačke konkrétny názov fabriky, kde produkt ušili.
Kvalita šitia: Etická móda býva ušitá poctivo. Pozri sa na švy z vnútornej strany – ak trčia nite, švy sú krivé alebo látka presvitá už v obchode, ide o rýchlu ihlu, ktorá bola ušitá pod obrovským časovým tlakom za pár centov.
