The Legend of Pan Twardowski

 The Legend of Pan Twardowski

A long time ago, in the city of Kraków, there lived a brilliant scholar and magician named Pan Twardowski. He was well-known for his extraordinary knowledge of science, philosophy, and the mysterious arts. But despite all his knowledge, Twardowski felt that something was missing. He wanted more power, more wisdom, and more knowledge than any human could possess.

One day, he made a pact with the devil, promising his soul in exchange for the ultimate magical powers. The devil, cunning and sly, agreed to the deal. Twardowski would live for many more years, with the ability to perform incredible feats of magic and wisdom. In return, the devil would take his soul when the time came.

Twardowski lived his life performing great magic. He used his powers to help the poor, impress the rich, and win battles. He could summon spirits, change his appearance, and even control the elements. But, as the years passed, Twardowski began to grow older and feared the moment when the devil would come to claim his soul.

Pan Twardowski, being clever, knew that he could not escape the deal, but he tried to outwit the devil. He tricked him by using his magic to travel to the moon, riding on a rooster. There, Twardowski hid in a tiny hut, thinking that the devil would never be able to find him. But the devil, relentless and clever, eventually tracked him down and caught him.

Twardowski’s fate was sealed, and when he returned to earth, the devil took his soul, just as promised. However, some say that Twardowski’s spirit still roams the earth, searching for a way to escape the pact. They say that his soul is still bound to the moon, and he will only be free when someone breaks the curse he placed upon himself.

Key Messages in the Legend

  • The Dangers of Ambition: Twardowski’s desire for power led him to make a dangerous deal.
  • Outsmarting the Devil: Despite his cleverness, Twardowski was unable to escape the consequences of his actions.
  • The Cost of Deals with Evil: Making deals with evil forces comes at a high price, often irreversible.

A1 LEVEL of the LEGEND:

Long ago, in Kraków, lived a clever man, Pan Twardowski. He knew a lot about science and magic. But he wanted more power.

So, Pan Twardowski made a deal with the devil. He promised his soul. The devil gave him magic powers. Twardowski could do amazing things!

He helped people with his magic. He could talk to ghosts and change how he looked. He could even control the weather!

Years passed. Twardowski got old. He was scared of the devil. He knew the devil would come for his soul.

Twardowski tried to trick the devil. He flew to the moon on a rooster! He hid there. He thought the devil couldn't find him.

But the devil did find him! The devil took Twardowski's soul.

Some people say Twardowski's spirit is still on the Earth. They say his soul is on the Moon. Maybe someone can break the curse and free him.
